MARLE THOMSON
Warm, edgy, colorful, quirky and above all musical: Marle Thomson sings, touches, surprises and stands out with her music, in which space and time merge into an own universe full of beats, loops, guitar, keys, and vocals. Her voice and songs contain a deep layering, and form a mix of strength and fragility.
After playing in the spotlight in 2016 with striking performances and a well-received EP "The Canopy", the full-length debut album "The Canopy-Acoustic" will be released in the spring of 2017, featuring the self-produced single "Satellites". This single is immediately picked up internationally by blogs such as Music Week (UK), Guestlist (UK) and Clash Magazine (UK).
In addition to radio and television, Marle performs throughout the country at festivals and venues such as AmsterdamFashion Week, Dutch Sustainable Fashion Week, the Amsterdam Woods Festival, the Vondelpark Open Air Theater, the launch of Vogue Living, Outdoor Art, the Hidden Treasures Festival, Eurosonic / Noorderslag and the Popronde. She is the opening act for British singer Heather Peace, provides the support act for Australian singer Mark Wilkinson during his performance in Paradiso and performs at the Uitmarkt on one of the main stages on Museumplein. There is also a tour through 20 concept stores, which will start with the 'Mars Thomson Showroom' in Westerlab in Amsterdam for a week.
In recent years, Mars Thomson has worked with various fashion designers such as Alexandra Frida, Sabine Staartjes, Judith van Vliet and Anbasja Blanken . For the latter she wrote the music for the runway show during Amsterdam Fashion Week and performed during the show. Marle was named ELLEMagazine as "Sound of 2017: power woman that you should not miss."
